NOTICE: I no longer recommend that you install CWM.
Instead, after you have rooted your Nook, visit the Play Store and download the FREE “Goo Manager (Beta)” application. Then use it to install the TWRP recovery using the guide here:
- Download this file: cwm_internal.zip – (4.08 MB) from this XDA Thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1570022 and oopy to a MicroSD Card.
- Use an existing bootable SDCard with CWM to execute the CWM program. (See this article (Root for Nook Tablet with CWM on SDCard) for a guide to creating such a disk.)
- Flash the downloaded file as you would a ROM update (See this article (Veronica’s “Ribbon Root”) for how to flash a ROM.)
- To return to stock recovery, flash this: stock_recovery_1.4.2.zip – (3.04 MB) from the same XDA thread.
